How many times have you asked yourself...how can I save money? What possible tips and ideas are out there?
This website is for the newbie to frugalness and offers tips, ideas and recipes of the week to help you pinch pennies everywhere.
Or have you asked yourself, can I freelance write, get published and get paid?
Well this website is for the novice writer too. We offer tips, hot websites to check out and placea to visit to help your career get the lift it needs.

I know you must be thinking what do writing and frugal tips have in common.

In my life plenty.

I am a staff writer and reporter for three local newspapers, I freelance write, when time allows, and I’m constantly working on a variety of adult fiction novels and two children’s illustrated books.

In some more of my free time I am continually scouring the Internet and books for cost saving ideas. I thrive on saving money grocery shopping. I shop resale and consignment stores looking for bargains and cheap decorating items and ideas for our hundred-year old farmhouse.

When you’re raising six kids under one roof you have to save money.

I pride myself in saving money and I even brag to my husband and friends about how much I saved. It’s like an adrenalin rush for me.

I’ve signed up for group forums about saving money. I’ve signed up for other group forums regarding my writing.

I’ve been published online numerous times. Not enough to quit my day job but enough so I know I’m getting my name out there. The thrill of seeing my name in print or online never gets old.

I’ve always been told and taught to write about what you know about. So I do. I know how to save money and I know how to write. So that’s where this website comes in. It’s my way of helping novice writers and beginners at saving money.

So grab a cup of coffee and enjoy.

Recipes of the Week

Chicken Quesadilla

12 ounces cooked chicken breast halves
2/3 cup shredded monterey jack cheese
1/4 cup finely chopped green onion
8 (8") flour tortillas
1 cup salsa
1 cup sour cream

Combine chicken and salsa in bowl. Divide chicken mixture, cheese and green onions evenly among 4 tortillas.

Cover with remaining tortillas. Heat one tortilla stack in large skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes.

Turn tortilla over and repeat for another 2-3 minutes or until cheese is melted. Repeat with remaining tortilla stacks.

Serve with sour cream.

Tip of the Week

Save the leftover vegetables and put in a freezer container. After a week or so you'll have a nice selection of corn, peas, carrots and green beans which are perfect for stew and soups. No more buying canned mixed vegetables.

"I save the 5-quart ice cream buckets to store dry goods like flour and sugar that I buy in 50-pound bags. These are great for storage."
